Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
Hey,

I have an Olympus OM1 (with a broken self-timer) and a Pentax K1000 (that doesnt have self-timer)…..forgive me for being dumb as Im fairly new to film and manual cameras, but I'm wanting to shoot family pictures/self portraits without being behind the camera. I know with my DSLR I have a remote….what do I need in order to be able to shoot this way with these two film SLR's? Can anyone point me in the right direction in terms of kit? I have no idea!

Thanks!

Look and see if the shutter release has a cable release socket (threads) right in the middle. If it does you can use an old-style mechanical self-timer that screws in the cable release socket. You can also use a long cable release. I'm not sure about the OM1 but my OM2 has a cable release on the motor drive that just needs a switch with a wire about as long as you want to make it (I have one about 50' long I used to use to shoot birds with).
