Sharpest 1.4 or 1.8 Nikon Primes when Wide-Open?

While you are at it, why not also rent a better camera body?
Not saying the D700 is bad. I am a D700 user. However if you are renting, you should look beyond just renting lens. A D800 will be really nice with good primes. You may even be able to get away with using F2.8 zooms with a D800.

Hi I have had the 35, 50, 85 f1.4 G lens all are excellent even the cheaper 50mm is a great lens. I am actually selling the 35mm and 85mm here in the 'marketplace' classifieds as I am about to switch to a mirrorless system. They were only used 4 times but are fantastically sharp lenses all are UK stock and like new with Nikon NC filter from day one which is included in sale price. The 85mm might be a bit tight for the ceremony?
