Short tele zoom lens

I'm looking for something in the 200$ range...I know it won't be great, but atm it's kind of just to play around with. For now I am spending my bigger money on the Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8, which I plan to use for the majority of my shooting.

Anyways, here are the two lenses I'm currently looking at:

Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG APO Macro (http://www.amazon.com/Sigma-70-300m...4?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1195623034&sr=1-4)

Tamron AF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di LD Macro (http://www.amazon.com/Tamron-AF70-3...2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1195623223&sr=1-2)

Anyways, any comments on these two lenses or recommendations on a better one would be great...of course, within the price range. And please, also comment on the Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 I am getting, thoughts or reco's on a better lens.

I have the Tamron you are asking about, and I absolutely love the lens (for the money).

It is sharp. Very sharp.

I have no idea about the Sigma, I have a couple Sigmas and they are not bad... but I do know the Tamron backwards and forwards, and it takes sharp pictures.

Thanks, you seem to know a lot about the tech stuff so I take that opinion seriously. You've got some nice pics as well.

(Oh, just to clarify, you mean the Tamron 70-300mm? I'm sure you do, just gotta ask.)
