Should I upgrade my D3100 to D7200/D9300 or get Tamron 70-200mm f2.8 VC and use it with D3100?

I kind of want another body so I don't have to switch lens. But I also want the look of the 70-200mm f2.8 Bokeh. Which should I get first?

Currently using D3100 with 18-55mm, 55-300mm vr, and 35mm 1.8 prime.

Thanks.

Which do you NEED? I upgraded gear when my current gear limits me. If you DON'T have a 70-200 2.8, but already have a body, get the 70-200. That said, the IQ of the D3100 isn't nearly on the level that the D7100 or proposed D9300 (if it even comes to fruition) is. So really it's a toss up. Which do you need more? Improved IQ in ISO ability etc? Or a beastly lens?

I got the Tamron 70-200mm 2.8 VC and I have the D7100

Which one would I choose if I were you ?

The D7100 HANDS DOWN!!! LOL

Not because the Tamron aint a great lens, it is but the D7100 is such an great camera I just would jump on it if I had the D3100 first without thinking twice..

Good luck.

The 70-200mm 2.8 is a great lens. But if you can't get the IQ out of it that you want, then you've wasted your money. Rent one for a day and find out if it can work for you on your D3100.

Get the lens (used or refurbished) - those bodies don't exist yet.

No! Wait a month and see what the companies deliver at Photokina.

What lenses do you have now?

Do this. That big lens on that small body might be an awkward set up.

From my experience on this forum you will get 35 different advises for each question you will ask and good chance you will get more confused going then when you asked.

Just make your mind up and go for it, there is no right or wrong answer here, either way both options are good.

18-55mm, 55-300mm, and 35mm f1.8g
hmmmm, What you have covers everything from 18-300 with a good fast 35. What do you want out of your system that you are not getting now?

I just hate switching lens from 55-300mm to 35mm 1.8g. Maybe I should get another body. More fps would be nice.

Lenses are better long term they say; but I just upgraded from a d5100 to a d7000 and I have to say it made a world of difference for me
