Sigma 17-70. Your thoughts?

Hi guys. I've been looking into buying a sigma 17-70 f2.8-4, thought it would be a great range for the things I shoot like events, edm festivals, concerts etc. I currently use a Tamron 28-75 but it limits me from taking wide shots. Do you think it's worth changing into the Sigma 17-70? Thanks for the feedback

The 17-70 2.8-4 is a great lens if you are talking about the new contemporary lens. The downside is that you'll lose one stop before the end of the zoom range because its a variable aperture lens. If you wanted it to stay fixed, then you can have a look at the 17-50 2.8 from Sigma. But you'll lose the extra 20mm of reach. You just gotta figure out which one you want to sacrifice.

^Thanks for the feedback. I guess it'll be good to switch. I always shoot at f4 with my Tamron anyway, because it's the "sweet spot" lol. I was planning to get the 17-50 the last few months but then I saw this 17-70 which gives me better range.
