When it comes to DSLR, I buy Nikon/Nikkor.

I've read the tamron performs better. If its worth it? Depends on your needs. I thought about getting the tamron 28-75 but the one that actually got good reviews was the one with the built in AF motor. I grabbed the Nikon 35-70 2.8D instead.
