Sigma 80-400mm F4.5-5.6 EX OS APO

Hey has anyone here had experience with this lens?

Ive read on another forum and various reviews on the web that its a good contender for the canon 100-400L IS USM.

From what Ive read its sharper at 400mm and the build quality is better then the canon plus its not a push/pull design which I wasn't to keen on.

Another bonus is, its about AU$1000 cheaper then the canon. :meh:

I've no experience with this lens but most people on here will tell you that you get what you pay for.
I find it hard to believe that a lens will be significantly cheaper than the Canon yet built better and sharper.
The Canon version is an "L" series lens meaning it's one of their top line yet it's not as good as the Sigma?

Doesn't sound quite right to me but i'd be interested in what others think too.

It's worth noting that the sigma has no internal focus motor, unlike the Canon; which means that it will obviously not be as quick to focus. So you may need to decide if this is important or not.
