Sigma Macro Super Lens

Would a Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 DL Macro Super Lens for Minolta-AF Camera work on my Minolta X-700? If it does work, is it any good?

i don't know about the X700.
but i did try the sigma 70-300 , the result is ok , for tele, photograph landscapes at daytime is excellent, people also not bad. So far is a good lens , but the macro function is so crap , actually u can ignore it...
