I've been following this new SD14 camera from Sigma (not released yet) with the Foveon X3 sensor. It sounds pretty neat, but I think they're hyping it up a little more than it deserves. They're claiming a 14MP sensor, but based on what I can tell it's actually a 4.65MP sensor times 3 layers without color interpolation. The sensor produces an image at a size of 2670 x 1760 pixels, but I haven't seen Sigma come out and say that. They're pretty much just promoting the 14MP side of the story. Here are some white papers from Sigma:

Anybody know more about this thing? I'm not saying it would be a bad camera, I just don't know if Sigma is telling the whole truth to consumers.
