Any constructive criticism would be great. Should have I cropped the RIGHT side to hide the salt shaker? Or have included it? Was the natural light from the window reflecting too much?

Thanks in advance!

? I don't see a salt shaker on the left side. Are you referring to the sliver of an object on the right?

I would crop that, it's distracting. Any time you just see a tiny sliver of an object on the edge of an image and you have no idea what it is, it's distracting IMO.

I like the natural light coming in, it adds to the effect of bringing attention to the teapot, and the teapot is still exposed nicely.

^ Ditto ^

I'd like to add that the DOF appears to be so shallow that the part of the teapot sticking out towards us is not in focus. IMO, this detracts from the image.

azruial... should have I turned the teapot a bit counter-clock wise?

thanks

It's up to you, I would take several exposures with different aperture values and see what looks best. It's all up to what you really want to accomplish though.

I think that the tilt sounds like one (of many) interesting ideas to try.

thx azruial
