And for these, used natural kitchen light. I used the strobes but damn it was BAD! The reflections just pretty much made everything dark. I mean pitch black dark.

Dude, that is the greatest creation known to man! I love cookies!

I just stick a fork into the oreo, between the layers... like stick the fork into the cream filling. Works good. But I like this invention too...

Mo, I like the basic shots but I'm not sure about the counter-top ones. I think having more light on the product and cookies and less distraction in the background would emphasize the product more. I might even try and get some kids into the photos as well, since they would be a big part of the targeted market. Happy kids using the product would show the product in use and help to sell it as well (at least I think that's how it works..).

Damn, in all of my excitement over cookies I completely forgot about commenting on the photos...I will say this, you have definitely chosen an interesting subject:thumbup:

Hey thanks for the comments guys! Thanks for the suggessions also!

Yes I'm going to take a few more photos, just didn't have any ideas at the moment. But yes, I do want to take a few shots with the cookies in a small platter and perhaps put the cookies behind the glass, etc.

I wanted to make it brighter but I'm having a major issue with it because when I use the strobe with a large 32x40 softbox, it totally makes it dark.

**IDEA** I have 3 strobes so instead of using their flash, perhaps just use the modeling lights, they're each 250 watts modeling lights shining from different direction, should light it up more. Wouldnt need to use the flash. That should make it much much more brighter. Also, it's even more darker because stupid photobucket makes them that way. I would get flickr if they had free 1gb space but only crappy 100mb

Oh and to get the product, he's at www.mycookiedipper.com but the page sux so I'm redoing his photos for him and it should look a lot better than whats there.

As for the ones w/ kids, there's another thread about it here "Working with Sip & Dip" but I didn't care for those pix as much because the settings SUCKED! I want to see if they would bring couple kids to our house or somewhere with a nice kitchen set. The ones they did were at some crappy lobby of their apt building with a gay plastic table cover. White background. Messy! Ehh but still they liked it a lot because it gave them something to work with and put on their flyers...

Here are 2 pics from that day.

with the set of 5 i wish the middle oreo still was white the cream looks dirty
also these things look cool!

What do you mean by making everything dark? Are the strobes not powerful enough to light the settings from inside the box? Also, you're getting some nasty reflection on the top parts of the clear packaging. Maybe a gobo if you have a way to suspend it would help. Well, not maybe, it would.

Hey, yeah the tiny reflection on the top isn't bothering me much as looking at diffrent product shots online. But in the kitchen, when I use the strobes the granite instantly reflects the light and in turn makes it completely dark. I'll take a pic like that and show you. I've moved the light around but soon as the flash goes up, it won't do it. I gotta see maybe placing the light really far away from the countertop might do the trick

Yep, going to buy some Oreo's right now!!!

Worked on it again as last batch was dark. Heres a result. No artificial lights were used. Just the two windows opened in the kitchen

*Again, it does look less vibrant because of photobucket. I still haven't messed w/ it yet.
