Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
This week I took my Camera skiing for the first time. While skiing I felt like I had taken tons of great photos. At the time I was wearing amber goggles. Once I got home I realized that color was not quite right. I think the AWB was some how off.

I adjusted the WB within LR and found that when the sky was as blue and I remembered then so were the shadows.

I read online that others suggest setting the white balance to 5700K. I tried this in LR which seemed to help the snow but it also washed out the sky.

How can I keep the sky deep blue and the snow white?

Any suggestions?

have any examples? 5700k is an awfully warm WB.

If the photos are JPEG files, because JPEG is limited to an 8-bit color depth you won't be able to correct them as well as you could 12-bit or 14-bit depth Raw files.

Enable opening the jpeg images in the RAW editor, you get a little more room to adjust them but not as much as a RAW file.

The approach I use is a graduated neutral density filter to prevent the sky from being washed out along with exposure compensation of +1 stop to bring the colour of the snow up from grey to white.
