I took these this morning. What do you think about the composition and lighting? It was hard getting light under his hat and keeping myself out of the reflection in the window. Do you like the sepia or color one?

I prefer the color. I've never been a fan of sepia, unless it's actually caused by age.

I don't mind the edit! How do you wash out the color? I have Photoshop Elements 8. I am trying to learn howto do portraits and post process.

Sepia never has done much for me.
I like the washed out color of the edit.

I also would not mind seeing the shot in B& W.

Michael, thanks for the directions. I poked around in elements and found the tools I needed. I was able to create a version similar to yours. That effect is going to be a great tool to use for future portraits. I have learned a lot in the past 24 hours!
