Hi I'm new here. Just had a question about using a 35mm camera. I want to try slow shutter speeds like i have done on my digital but i only have a 400 B&W flim. What would the effect be if i set the iso lower on the camera than the film speed. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

If you set the ISO lower or higher than the film speed you will effectively over or under expose the shots. I used to "Push" film to a higher rating but could then control the results in the darkroom up to a point.

Thanks. But i don't have my own dark room.:( But thanks for the help.
If you tell some labs that you have "Pushed" the ISO they will compensate during processing. At least that's the way it used to be, I haven't shot any film in years so things may have changed over time.

It's been so long since I shot film I really have a hard time using ISO for film speed ;) It was always "ASA" when I shot film.
