Smart phone gimble question

I am considering a black Friday purchase of this gimble,

Zhiyun Smooth-X2 Smartphone Gimbal Stabilizer​

I would primarily be using this at family events, and such. I know nothing about these gimbles, making videos etc., would this gimble make a big difference in my videos? It will cost about $80.
