What's new

Snapseed is a must try!

It's a great mobile app but I wouldn't even consider in a desktop post production workflow.

BTW, it was initially introduced by Nik with the U-Point controls and so if one has experience using them it can be a great little processor.

So, how do you do it? What mobile platform? How do you offload it from the app so the file can be moved and stored separately? How do you get photos printed? Many questions for this Snapseed rookie.

Sounds like I need to find another app specifically for Win 10.

First off, I corrected my auto corrected "would" to what I really meant to say "wouldn't" as far as a desktop workflow. I wouldn't use Snapseed and IIRC it was strictly a mobile app however it looks like PC users can download it for desktop use, not for MacOS though. On the desktop I use PhotoShop which also has the Nik(Google) suite with a host of the Snapseed functionality and many more which is now the DxO Nik Collection.

To answer your questions:
- I use Apple mobile devices, iPhone and iPad and MacOS desktop.
- With Apple AirDrop, I can simply transfer an image from a desktop machine to my mobile devices where the Snapseed app resides, then simply open the app and import the photo for editing. *caveat I never do this from desktop to mobile. The only time I use Snapseed is when I capture an image on my mobile devices, do the edit and then Airplay, email or text the image to either myself or to others.
- As far as printing, all online printers accept e-transfers of files either through their dedicated photo interface or via ftp.

HTH!

Snapseed is great except that RAW files get stuck on infinite loading. Checkout Toolwiz. I prefer it slightly more than Snapseed.

What OS are you using?
I can AirDrop(MacOS) Raw 78.5MB NEF files to my iPad Pro and they open just fine in Snapseed. The Raw developer opens them and editing is straightforward and fast.

I see that it is only available as an app though. I use Gimp and Rawtherapee myself, both open source and both very powerful. I have the option of exporting photos from my camera to my phone, but to be honest I would rather wait till I get home to edit my photos in comfort and on a larger screen.
