Getting expressions and the ball in action shots is what it's all about.

I would cool down the back lit shots some so the grass is closer to green than to yellow, crop, boost the mid-tone contrast, and locally sharpen the players.

I like your timing. Clarity is good.
I'm assuming you have a reason for the consistent crop. The consequence of that though is you have a LOT of vacant space above and below the action.
I think they would have a lot more impact if you cropped much more tightly so that the action was more prominent.
