I was trying to expose for the sky. It was late evening so I'm going to try again tomorrow during the day.

Rustic scenes like these are one of my favorite subjects - I find them very calming. Here's my thoughts:

For #1, I'd crop out some of the sky. If the sky is your purpose, then I'd re-frame it to include maybe just the top of the windmill and sky, pointing dramatically upwards.

#2 - the log is nicely done, but my eye follows it to...nothing

I'd like for #3 to have a stump or something in the very close foreground. Maybe the log from #2!

1. Could make for a better photo if it was cropped differently, or maybe shot at a different angle. Also seems a little underexposed...maybe get more sky in the frame if you were setting your exposure for that.

2. Nothing really interesting about this one.

3. I like this one the best, but it is underexposed a bit.
