some moon shots

well today i finaly tried snap some moon photos, its my first time. not happy is it my lens sucks or it some settings i need use to capture moon?? i was usein nikor 55-200VR, 300 one would b better, here da pics ...its a crop

Well yes 200mms is a bit short. But really I have seen far worse, fact is some of mine were at first. You are better off manually focusing if you didnt already. The moon is not a great AF target.

I was going to ask if you used a tripod... That's really the main thing I see is a little bit of blur...

I took a photo of the moon with the same lens, no crop though. This was the result.

Like the others said it looks a little blurry, what does it look like un-cropped.
And another question.. What shutter-speed did you use?

ok Aleksey. maybe you'll see a 300 or 350mm manual focus turn up cheap somewhere. i got a 300mm Kiron in a charityshop recenty for about $15. sharp lens with great color rendition.
