I saw my very first Scarlet Tanager today. What an absolutely gorgeous bird! From what I read, they are one of the hardest birds to find in an eastern forest because they stay so high in the canopy. I was able to snap 7 or 8 quick photos before off it went. Not one pic is worthy of sharing:BangHead:

Of course this ugly Red Headed Vulture turned out OK...

Nice shot i got to see three last year but do you think they could move from the middle of every tree they landed in so that i could focus on them
 
They have this Phantom of the Opera look ... that you captured very well.
You know, now that you mention it, they sure do have that look!

Thank you very much. A local baseball field has a roost tree for them. Some mornings you will see 20+ birds with their wings spread, drying them in the sun.
