Sony A350 mode selection question

I'm still learning about my new A350. What's the difference between landscape mode on the 'mode dial' and landscape through the 'creative style' menu? Because there's a landscape mode on the dial but you can also go through the menu and select landscape in the creative style menu. Or do they do the same thing. The manual isn't real clear about stuff like that.

well with the creative styles you can set it to landscape across any mode (P A S M)

With my A200, I usually keep it in P and change the creative styles to what ever basic mode I want. The landscape changes the colors a little bit but I usually keep mine in vivid mode.
