well, I followed a suggestion made by my friend and tried do play with it a bit. I wanted her to "stand out" from the background. It is hard to fully control the dof with non-dslr camera and that is what crossed my mind :)

Here are some things you can do to decrease DOF:

switch camera to portrait mode
decrease ISO (as long as it opens up the aperture as opposed to decreasing shutter speed)
use a longer focal length
decrease camera to subject distance

I know I know... but it was shot on the max zoom and I was far far away from her. ISO was 200 what is the lowest here and apperture 2.8... also.. the best I can do with my cam. :)
well I'm afraid that the pic is dead... the serv is... and will be for the enxt few hours... so sorry guys.

Great pose, but a couple of minor things stick out to me...

1. The flesh tones seem a bit yellowish to me.
2. The cell phone in the pocket drives me nuts...it keeps drawing my eye away from her face.

I couldn't see the photo when I posted my earlier comments. The DOF is fairly shallow. I think that a simpler background would help make the subject stand out more. The architecture is sort of busy.
