Starling on a branch

A little better there are still what look like processing artifacts, ie., halo around the bird body and branches....

Cheers, Don

Don, I'm a PP noob but am learning. Assuming pic taken in RAW mode what would you suggest to eliminate the halo in PP? I am learning LR. Thanx,

Dave

Try shooting in spot metering, your artifacts may be from trying to recover the shadows. With an iso of 360 I assume you did not have to use much, if any, noise reduction ? Or too much sharpening can leave a halo.

If you could keep track of what you did, it would be easier to pin point possible issues.
