Sticky concerning advice/tips/experiences

Is there a thread anywhere on this forum that people can put short tips or tricks to stuff they have learned throughout their experiences?

While i understand not all photos are going to be exactly the same for each person, maybe some guidelines to go by when taking certain pictures or trying to capture a certain image of a particular object.

Maybe there is, maybe i just missed the thread though... if somebody could point me in that direction.

If not, i think it would be good for a beginner to help give them an idea of boundaries to produce the most from pictures or even to learn from other's mistakes.

one in pertular which was nice was in Understandingn Exposure, Bryan said 8-15 second shutter speeds will get you a good effect with the lights of cars during a night picture.
