...for those freakin crows! chiller, have you noticed whenever you enter a graveyard ALL crows head to the trees? if they fly out and see you, they immediately fly back. WTH? venture into the yard and look back over your shoulder and the little bas***d is on a stone....turn to take the shot...gone! it's like these things know what you want, they just aint gonna give it up! maybe i'll invest in a 250,000mm zoom lens and shoot from across town! birds?, no problem...they're just screamin "take my pic take my pic"....wish i had a bb gun! it's becoming apparent that going to the local taxidermy shop is the answer. i'll have to get a variety of poses though. :greenpbl:

hmmmmmm

thanks for looking!

Well... no crows but I like the birdie shots. You must be the master of conversions. Must be....

WOW!!!! Jon...awesome shots. This graveyard is killer. I am dying to see it ....well you know what I mearn
Last night..I was at the park with my dog...the camera was at home. Crow alert...20' to the left. I had nothing. I wanted to run after him...just because.
When I was on my cemetary hunt for a crow pic..I could hear them in the trees mocking me, calling me names. They kept calling me a "caww" , whatever that means in crow language.
That is why I rented the fake crow suit. I thought, maybe...just maybe..if the saw me hopping around , flapping my arms, they would think I was the "big crow" from the sky, but nothing.
Still got the fake crow in my car...so I might put that out as a decoy. Now I need something to keep the security guards from chasing me out of the cemetery.

Great work on these shots...love them.

These are ... graveyardy...

And I like this ongoing "capture-a-crow-at-the-cemetary"-competition and all the funny results you are getting. Like you get posing birds, but no crow at all, Chiller gets "invisible crows" and "never-moving-but-being-there-at-least"-crows... keep on competing!

And you have the most graveyardy cemetaries. Here they just don't look like this, they are too boring for any such photo. But I tried to photograph a crow today (on film, hence no instant gratification), and you could have that one... in case it really shows in my picture. Who knows?

hey jonmikal, is that a pellet gun or are you just happy to see me??

love the second pic, jon,...that is really a cool shot........
i think you and chillers' facination and obsession with crows is gonna be a long running theme, ya think???
i just wish i could take one good shot of them on a cross, and win this whole argument...(hmm maybe i should tithe more on sunday....??)

thanks everyone!

april - you're too much

Those are all incredible shots.. the 2nd to last one is.. spooky/creepy ... but for some reason I keep looking at it... Good job.

thanks gapinthevoid and welcome to the forum. i don't believe i've seen you around.

lafoto/chiller - the graveyards here in dc are old as heck and this is but one of hundreds around...so i actually have NO excuse for not capturing a better crow shot except for not having the time to do so. i am totally captivated with historic graveyards/gravesites....i love the mood they convey and try to express that mood in my b&w shots. i couldn't imagine shooting in color. thanks again guys!

The photos you take there are amazing. The black and white bring out the mystery to the older graves.
I too, love to see the history, and the monuments found there. I can wander for hours in our cemeteries, reading the stones, and looking a the carvings. I have one cemetery I go to, that I know has crows in the trees there, but trying to get them to come down for a photo shoot is another thing. One day, I will get it.

LOL ! The first one looked like they where... you know... acouple of seconds later you would of had birdie porn.

The 3rd one is great I like the " Wwwaaasssup" in it.

The last one, print and frame !!

Hell, their all good. Love the BW!

ok... I'll visit cementary today and you'll se I'll get a few crows :)

Good stuff dude, I love #3; And Jon Crow are of rated, these bird are much nicer and friendly looking

Naturally I ran into the same old imposters. They either just like having their photos taken, or they wanna be a crow.
