I really like the way the tone surrounding the bird changes around it, almost like a quadrant of circle with the bird as a bulls eye.

Sorry for my slow reply, azkul. I've been travelling and haven't been on the forum for a while...

I don't remember the exact settings but I am guessing 1/200 at f16 - the attempt would have been to under-expose for the silhouette and shadow.
