So I bought a couple of biggish plastic boxes to store my Canon stuff in while I'm in the process of selling it. I have a de-humidyfier (granulate) in the box and a humidity meter. Before adding the granulate the humidity in the box was >60%, it is now down to 30%. Is this too dry? Should I try and get the humidity to around 45%?

I was thinking that the lubrication of some of the lenses might dry out at this low humidity. Some advice would be great.

I don't think there is a 'too dry' for camera gear. As far as lubrication, there isn't a lot of lubricant in modern gear, and what there is tends to be silicone or hydrocarbon based, so humidity is unlikely to have an effect.

Thanks for the reply Tirediron.
