You two Duncans are going to cause a bit of confusion from now on, but I'll do my best to tell you apart :D.

Well, duncanp, I agree with what DuncanK thinks about the green, it doesn't do too much for me, either, but I like the b+w version of your photo!

the b&w version makes the scene appear less insalubrious. i hope that isnt the scene from you bedroom window....

i used the levels in elements by selecting each colour and moving the sliders, then i duplicate the orginal and boost the saturation and then set that layer to hard light. if it doesnt look right you can add a photo filter as well
