Studio lighting

thanks again Philip and Matt for your inputs....

I handed this assignment in today....

I took your advice and wrote my exposures down as the main light being f/8 and my exposure f/8...

I honestly am not sure why the teachers tell us to bracket... Maybe as a *just incase* our exposure isn't correct, then we can still get decent images. Considering I am only in the first semester of the course, maybe for the time being they are telling us to do this?

As for the shadows, part of the assignment was I had to have two lights - so not really any choice there. But I did do some jelly bean photos on transparency film today and used a reflector rather than a second light...

and for the record, the teacher was standing with us when we were doing this, and we were using 80A filters, but weren't sure if we should do one or two stops compensation - the teacher says "it doesn't matter because you have to bracket anyway"...

I suppose we had 15 shots and only needed 3 photos so in this case we may aswell bracket

I asked the teacher about the camera today - they are 6x4.5... (Mamiya 645)

Anyway - once again, thankyou for your help :)

I will let you know how I do with the assignment :)
