I like the first one better. I think the clear, almost harsh lighting works well with it. In the 2nd, the shadows are too harsh and the pose looks kind of stilted and forced.
On the 1st one, I like the way the light accentuates and compliments the shape of the nose. I like the catch light. I don't care for the model's expression and the tension that the pose expresses. I'm not a fan of single-source and/or high-ratio lighting. The light ratio seems to be around 1:4. I would have liked it better with 1:1.5 or 1:3 ratio. On the 2nd shot, the lifeless eyes are its worst offender. Overall, I think the model is probably more beautiful than the shots imply.
Ok canonrebel, will try 3 light source next time. Still in learning stage with single light source. Be patience ok, will post soon
