Suggestion Required: Which Speedlite should I go for ?

I've been thinking about getting new speed light for my Canon 50D - I need suggestion whether to go for EX 580 or 600 RT ?

At this point I'd just start to invest in the new platform that Canon has built with the 600RT. If you want to economize, then look for a good used 580 from anyone that is buying up. I have the 580 and I am going to hold it for a while, right now I don't use speedlite flash enough to justify the $1k for the new lite and the new transmitter.

600EX is the best flash they have, if you don't want wireless triggering because you'll only use 1 flash, you can get non-rt version cheaper.

If you can afford it, 600EX-RT won't disappoint, its all around better flash than the 580

I believe the 600ex is selling for less now than the 580 on amazon.

600 is awesome but depending on what you own, you could get a 580 EX II AND a 430 EX II and have a lot of strobist options. Just my two cents. I'd rather have more flashes than one fancy one.
