Today is the 150th anniversary of the beginning of the American Civil War. It commenced with the bombardment of Fort Sumter in Charleston Harbor. The sunrise on that fateful day might have looked a lot like this one.

...minus the watertower. :)

As sunrise shots go, this one is nice and mildly interesting. (they usually bore me). You might consider cropping out the ground to take away the earth-bound feel of it.

Have to agree with them about the water tower thing. But, other than that, this is an interesting still of the sunrise, and good timing with the flock of flying birds. I really like the billowing clouds.

Nice shot. Did you stay for today's festivities? I was only able to read about them as I am in Pennsylvania.

yeah what manaheim said... crop the ground out

Very nice sun. I agree, lose the water tower. And I might feather your mask more, there is a dark halo under the sun

Land and tower cropped out. I see the dark halo, but am clueless about "feathering". Thanks for the suggestions. I do prefer this one.
