Yes, in this picture is tricky to find the right balance. First I just wanted to make it very dramatic and left the foreground very dark closer to what naturally are the lighting conditions. It looked dramatic all right but the whole set up of the village was missing. When I was making the foreground light then it just looked like simply overcast sky. And I wanted to have this hole in the sky with streaming down sunlight. Of course it is a trade off but that is how I was trying to solve. And I am taking your advice on board.
