Superman in Metropolis, IL

While Clark (Brandon) Kent & I were in Metropolis, IL for the Superman Celebration this last week, I shot a few photos (in HDR) of the giant Superman staute that's in front of the courthouse. Since it was dark outside (10 pm) there wasn't much more could do with the light shining from the two poles on either side of Superman. C/C welcome! Thanks for looking!

you really have a statue of superman outside the courts!!!

You have to be kidding!! Disney world yes.... courts NO!

is it there all the time or just for the celebration?

Boden: I believe you are right. I had to get on top of a plastic picnic table to take this shot. Since it is HDR, I shot 5 photos for it. I edited this photo in the early morning hours & didn't notice (no excuse though).

RedDevilUK: DC Comics designated Metropolis, IL as the official town (& the only town) for Superman. They hold a celebration there every year (for the last 29 yrs). The statue is not on courthouse property but in the street right in front of the courthouse. It's there year 'round. It's also near the Superman Museum.
