Tamron 70-300 macro lens

Got my eyes on one of these.anyone tried one and do they auto focus on the d3100?cheers

I think it is the same I used. The one with zoom and macro but macro only work at a certain range. Yes, it auto focus since I was using the D5000 then.

It does not have VR and I eventually changed to afs 70-300 mm VR.

If it's the SP 70-300 f4.5/5.6 Di LD USD then it is a great lens. I know several folks that have it and they all rave about it.

There's a new version out that matches up with Nikon's VR model pretty well. It has USD(AF-S) and VC(VR).
There are many including myself that have owned both and like the Tamron better.
