I am looking for a new "all-around" lens with a little more versatility than my 35/1.8

I'm between the Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 and the Tamron 28-75 f/2.8.

I'd be using it for street, landscape, impromptu portraiture, and just random snapshots.

Does anyone who has used both have any input?

owned both for Nikon and loved them.
the 17-50 is a DX lens and the 28-75 is an FX lens.
if you have a crop frame camera they both will work fine.
if you have a full frame camera, i wouldn't get the 17-50.

I found the 28-75 better for portraits.
for street and landscape though, the wider lens might be a better choice.
the non-vc versions can be found pretty cheap now.

I had the Tamron 17-50 f2.8 for a while and sold it, edges were just too soft.
