I recently had to return a $96 telephoto conversion lens that I bought for my Panasonic Lumix FZ20 because it wasn’t compatible and all of the pictures came out completely warped; though that lens attached to the adapter tube which attached to the camera fine, it clearly was not compatible with the camera, so now I’m looking for telephoto lenses that ARE guaranteed to be compatible with the Lumix FZ20. So far I’ve found these telephoto lenses that are compatible with the FZ20: (listed in order of magnification)

Canon TL-55 – 1.4x

Olympus TCON-14B – 1.45x

Minolta ACT-100 - 1.5X

Nikon TC-E15ED - 1.5X

DCR-1540PRO - 1.54X

Olympus TCON-17 – 1.7x

Sony VCL-HGD1758 – 1.7x

DCR-2020PRO – 2.2x

My question is, does anyone know of telephoto conversion lenses that would work with the FZ20, other than those listed above? Preferably, one with more than 2x magnification?

Also, out of those eight above, can anyone recommend one over the others? Such as, one that has better quality than the rest?

Thanks.

They all degrade quality. General rule is that the most expensive one works better.

I have no idea about compatibility.

I don't think you'll like my reply. :meh:

Don't bother. You'll generally get much better quality and more detail by simply cropping to a tighter frame and using interpolation sw like Genuine Fractals to make up the resolution.

You may just have it in your mind that you want one of these anyway so you're going to get one. Fair enough. :D
