It looks like a good start, you have a consistent layout and navigation, but there's a lot of white space, you might be better off ditching the white box and just letting the images flow on the black background, or change the background to white, but a big white box on a black background is very contrasting, almost too much.

Also, do you really need a pop up for the gallery? I'd just have it load the image on a new page, not a pop up, doesn't seem to be any reason for it.
