Whale bubble feeding is a rare event, but I captured this shot off of Juneau AK.

By circling the bait fish and releasing bubbles, the humpbacks concentrate them into a large fish ball. Then together they rise, mouths open, through the ball to capture them. They float on the surface a few seconds to let the sea water drain out through their baleen, then swallow their catch.

I was Fortunate to capture those few seconds.
