It’s been blessedly cool here with some rain and sun mixed in. 70’s the past two days.

Good sleeping weather. But I still want my 80s and humid weather lol

Finally stopped raining, over 8 inches in 36 hours. To say the ground is squishy is an understatement. Look out northeast it’s coming your way.

What's another 10 feet of my lawn lost to another storm? Why not take a couple more trees too! I'm getting used to it.

Here as well in northwestern Minnesota. 2 weeks of hot and humid, then suddenly 45 degree morning and 63 degree high. Bring on the fall colors!!!

Love the mic mouse watch

Long day yesterday. DW had her annual follow up appt at Emory Windship Cancer Center, in Atlanta. Going over they had a truck fire on the shoulder that caused a backup , then 10 miles of one lane (cutting timber of the right of way). Coming back had the same thing on the other side. Fortunately even though metro traffic was heavy as always, it was moving. The downtown confluence of I85, I75, & I20, is bottleneck no matter what time of day it is. Only added a couple hours to our round trip. Visit was uneventful (which is good), continue with treatments and come back next year.

New meaning to the term "Hotlanta" temperature was hovering between 99 and 100 as we headed home.

Hey, hosers. Finally got enough of a break in the weather to install the rails and racks for the kayaks. I tried the soldering iron and heat gun to soften up the spray-in bed liner but no-go, I guess I wasn't getting it hot enough. I ended up going with "rivnuts", a threaded insert that's installed like a pop-rivet. The 12 holes are drilled (four on each side and four across the front of the bed), eight of the rivnuts are installed and one rail is installed. I just need to install the rivnust along the right side and install the front and right rails. Once those arein place, I can start putting the racks together and install those in the rails; attach the risers to the front cross-rail, then install the Kayak racks onto the riser and rear cross rail. We're taking a short break and a quick lunch (getting dizzy bending over to see what I'm doing in the bed, so blood sugar is a bit low). MLW is helping me bolt the rails in, and I'll need her help putting the racks on..

Lunch is done, so back to work. Maybe a snap of this stuff.

We're enjoying much cooler temps, and actual SUN! :icon_sunny: The last few days have been great.

But the summer of rain has taken its toll: I now have 3 dead Ilex bushes, and lost numerous coneflowers and black-eyed susans from backyard flooding. We have a pool pump over the flow well, but it's just overwhelmed this year. It's not designed for this. So, this year is just shot for the garden, and I'll wait and see what comes up next spring and take it from there. No help for those bushes.

Aside from that - happy weekend, hosers! Life is good.
