The Coffee House

What fish have you got?
Eight glofish tetras, three albino Corydoras, one strebo's cory, a yoyo loach, and a couple of pygmy plecos. Down to one nerite snail, and only a few cherry shrimp. The filter started acting up a couple of weeks ago, and coincidentally my colony of about sixty shrimp is down to only three or four. Will have to order more shrimp and a few more nerite snails. The shrimp and the snails are the cleanup crew. Fun fact, shrimp consume more waste than the produce, which is a good thing, as it helps keep the planted tank in balance.

Thats good amount, you got plants growing in there too? A friend of mine once had 6 tanks going at one stage, but was to much work for him.

He's running just 2 now, i can't remember all the species he had but there was a good variety at one stage. This is the same fella's whos gardening i do, he lost the turtle the other week.

He was a pretty cool turtle and he is being missed.

Were the 60 shrimp sea monkey's?

The other day I was talking to someone about how I haven't had a cold yet this year and a couple days later now I got a cold 🤦🏼‍♂️

Luckily its been minor...but still just feel out of it. Probably lowered my immune system after spending $1600 on a laptop 🤣

@nerwin here we are in the fall allergy season, agreed, grass pollen, etc. It's been worse this year because of the lack of rain.

And we had too much rain up here. Luckily I don't have any seasonal allergies but yeah its beginning....not looking forward to it. But I am looking forward to not having to mow the lawn anymore. Sitting on a bouncy tractor for 4 hours is gets old FAST.

Yes, planted tank with Water Wisteria, Vietnam H'ra, Miniature Dwarf Hairgrass, and Repens. Just did a clean out of the Wisteria because it grows very fast and can take over the entire tank. The other plants are new with the eventual idea of removing most of the Wisteria. The shrimp are actual shrimp, about 10-12mm in size.

Merry Monday Hosers! It was a luscious 54F this morning, but warmed up fairly quickly as the sun came up, and we will top at 87F today. It was a very pleasant morning walk, hitting little patches of warm air along the trail, but mostly nice and chill. I had a very strange encounter on the walk, some guy, about 6'3", dressed like Wyatt Earp or Doc Holliday. Had to check my calendar to make sure I hadn't missed a couple of months. I wasn't audacious enough to take a pic, being that it was early morning on a lonely trail and I didn't want to find out if he was carrying irons. 🤠

Dropped off my camera at the post office this morning. Had to say my goodbyes. lol. At the end of the day, its just a camera. I do want a smaller setup though...a camera that you don't bring with you because its too big and a burden is not a good camera to have. Trying to find that one that makes you want to use it is important I think. I might look into micro four thirds cameras honestly....the lenses are small and still good image quality.

I've decided to sell my Canon R7 and keep my Canon 90D. I'll get quotes from MPB, Adorama, B&H, and Competitive Camera (local shop) and go with the best one. I'm finding that I really like this Sony RX10M4, which has a nice lens (24-600mm) and with my current neuro-muscular challenges, it's much easier to use, it's lighter and more compact, and I like the fact that it does f/4 at 600mm. The entire camera weighs less than my Sigma 150-600mm lens and is much easier for me to hold steady at 600mm. I honestly don't know if I'll even use the 90D at this point but will keep it as a backup.

Good morning Photopeeps! This morning it was 53F, but a warm front will make it's way through today and by this afternoon we'll be back in the 90's.

MPB one the bid by far, so I'll be selling my R7, an EF-R adapter, and a Sigma 50-500mm lens to them. Speaking of which, I notice that all three of the companies mentioned above suddenly have links to their respective websites; is that something the forum software is doing, because I didn't put the links there. I don't mind, just curious.

It's Tuesday, so I'm setting up a taco bar for the family with taco and taco salad fixings, their choice.

Good morning Folks! Twentythree years ago today I was teaching an Object Oriented Analysis and Design class when one of the students asked to turn on the TV. We were stunned. May we never forget this unmitigated act of brutality and cowardice and may the memories of those who lost their lives be a blessing to their families.

I was in a judge's office, discussing IT issues when the pentagon was hit.
