The Coffee House

Here is what I found... so the answer is yes, unless you are on a low carb diet. They pretty much have the same Nutrional value as peas, but with more salt I would think.
Hmm. I don't taste "added salt", but then again, that mustard kind of kills taste-buds, so maybe. The odd thing is there are no vitamins listed. I would have thought peas would have some amount of vitamines. Oh well, I'm convinced that they are not bad for me, and they were cheap. :)

MIght be a difference between CA and USA. Here, they are required to put the nutritional information on the packaging. Here is an example I pulled from Amazon. The sodium content on these isn't bad, and 16g carbs isn't bad. The vitamin info is required on the labeling, even if there isn't any significant nutritional value, like these.

Food Question:

I've bought "Hot Wasabi Peas" recently. These are sweat peas, coated with a hot (wasabi) mustard and then dried. I think they were probably cooked before being coated. They are very hard, but chewable. Anyway, what I'd like to know is whether they are nutritious. Does anybody know about them?
Wasabi Peas AKA "The Dentist's Friend."

Dunno but an easy way to skip the usual dose of salt in canned beans and legumes is to buy dried and cook in an InstantPot or any other pressure cooker. Never looked back after getting one.

Last episode watched of the 3 jackarses of the show "The Grand Tour", formerly known as "Top Gear". Bugger! Loved the banter & shenanigans and the places they visited, was good fun🤪.

"The Grand Tour" didn't replace "Top Gear" - it's a different show. When Clarkson was fired from "Top Gear", Hammond and May quit and the three of them did other projects, some solo, but they did "The Grand Tour" together. "Top Gear" is still on with new hosts.

I believe it's less about vitamins and more about protein and fiber. Peas are fairly high in protein and powdered pea protein is often an ingredient in different products and is sold as powder to add to things like smoothies. I sometimes add it to oatmeal.

Yep i know, in my mind the grand tours still the 2002 series of top gear to me even with the name change. I've tried watching the other hosts of top gear but i can't get into them, just not the same chemistry as these 3.

Never seen any of the 1977 series, i didn't know there was a series before them till now.

Good evening Hosers! It's Friday evening!! That means no alarm clock in the morning! Tonight's dinner was comfort food, sautéed beef kielbasa, sauerkraut simmered in lager, and mashed potatoes. Absolutely delish!

Apparently no Friday the 13th disasters for TPF inmates? Great!
Smoked pork hock for navy bean soup. Nice but not great for our mini-drought+heat. Brandt Meats in Toronto still cranks out old school German meat products--great wurst, double-smoked bacon, hams+a bounty of German and Mittel Europe groceries at their factory store. Nice to get a knockwurst that's traveled 50ft from plant to display case! One of my happy places!

Its Friday the 13th and I made money today. Thats a good Friday the 13th to me!

I have an event I want to go to Saturday, but I wanted to shoot some film too. unfortunately earlier in the week, I went to order some film but it wouldn't be here until next week. So I popped into Walmart and grabbed a pack of Fuji 400. I'll make it work!

The only thing for me was leaving my phone at the office.

St. Judes Jeepfest this afternoon. We'll see how the "beauty show" goes. Hopefully I'll win "dirtiest Jeep" and get a free car wash or something.

Looks like Francine is one of those "last to leave" type of weather event. Not complaining though as the soaking rain is just what we needed. Looks like now it'll be this evening before we see any clear sky.

Good morning Photopeeps! This morning it was 53F, but a warm front will make it's way through today and by this afternoon we'll be back in the 90's.

MPB one the bid by far, so I'll be selling my R7, an EF-R adapter, and a Sigma 50-500mm lens to them. Speaking of which, I notice that all three of the companies mentioned above suddenly have links to their respective websites; is that something the forum software is doing, because I didn't put the links there. I don't mind, just curious.

It's Tuesday, so I'm setting up a taco bar for the family with taco and taco salad fixings, their choice.
MPB was consistently offering more than the others when I sold a few things last year. Also they rated something higher than I had once they inspected it and gave me more than agreed to. But best money is to sell to another person direct if you can. I used marketplace and Facebook groups to sell some Nikon gear and got more than the resellers offered. I priced halfway between the used prices online and what I was being offered by MPB.

My sheltie Daisy is constantly shedding, and she used to not like brushing, but now she tolerates it. Spring and Autumn are the worst, but she sheds year round.
Miss Harlie is a super shedder. I vacuum just about every day. Last time we brushed her we were joking that we could have made a whole other dog with the fur.

Francine is bringing us some much needed rain. Yesterday was breezy, causing some power outages, especially south and west of us. Ours blinked out once but stayed on after, my friend about a mile away lost power in their neighborhood for a couple hours. We're far enough east of the path that the rain bands haven't been torrential downpours but soaking gentle rains. Something we really need. Supposedly moving NW away from us by tonight.
We are in severe drought here. Have had no rain for many weeks. Rain barrels are empty and plants are sad. Have been watering every other day. The cool nights tend to dry out the soil quickly.

Yesterday was my last day of work and I am officially retired. My alarm clock didn’t get the memo and woke me at 5 wanting to go outside and chase squirrels.

Hoping we get some rain this week!

All - haven’t been around much. It was a busy couple of weeks winding down to retirement. Had to train a few people and offload all my projects and reports. Wrapped up at 12 yesterday. Celebrated last night with my family and today I’m going to chill with a pedicure and a movie - Beetlejuice! Happy weekend Hosers!
