Off and on all day in SW Ontario. Bloody cold. Nasty wind chill. Felt like I was climbing Everest with Hillary at 7am today. Good day to cook and kitchen table imbibe. Fish chowder cooking.

I've eaten a lot of chowder (corn, beef, chicken, rabbit, venison, squirrel), but never fish chowder. What's the fish?

I've toughened up as an ex-pat from SW USA. Nasty morning here. Flurries and steady 25-30kph winds all day into evening. Lake Huron shore got smacked hard friends there reported.
I use frozen portioned haddock from Costco cut down to 1" cubes. Minced shallots and celery, stock made from instant dashi, a touch of saffron, cubed spuds. I leave out bacon since the dashi has a slight smoky taste/aroma. Quick prep/cook.

When I want snow, I don't get any but when I don't want snow I get a dumping. Why is that always the case? Haha. I have a tractor now is of course I wanna use it!!

I have it all ready to go...but no snow.
