The New Guy From Chicago

Hey everyone, I live in the south burbs of Chicago. I've been taking as many pictures as I can with my point and shoot (Panasonic Lumix) that I've had for about 4 years. I finally got my first SLR, a Nikon D5000 with 2 lenses. I've had it for about 3 weeks and I've taken almost 1000 pictures with it. I like taking all kinds of pictures but I'm really looking forward to warm weather with car shows, riding and being outdoors. I'll take any and all constructive criticism.
