The Nikon 1 V1.

Hi everyone!

I plan to buy a(nother) camera very soon and I'm lookin into the Nikon 1 V1. So, I understand it's a small camera with interchangable lens but the lenses are limited. So, I've come back here once again to ask you for your thoughts.

Is the Nikon 1 V1 a DSLR camera? Is it a 'mirrorless camera' and what's the disadvantage or advantage of that?
What exactly can a person do with a Nikon 1 and why would they prefer it over the cheaper D3200 (or D3100) entry level DSLR?

Hi. I think "mirrorless" is a cross-breed btween the regular compact camera and dslr. It's like a digital SLR, only without the mirror(s); It's much smaller and lighter than a normal DSLR... Plus it shares many features with a DSLR. Peronally i'd go for the NIKON D3100. there're so many accessories that are compatible with it... lenses, flashes... et al.
