I can clean my own sensor with a swab and sensor cleaning solution from Amazon if I am on a mountaintop.


Yes yes… will need to shield it from the elements while cleaning it but it’s not impossible. And if it’s only dust, it’s even easier to clean with just a dust blower.

Never needed that, never, not once.
Maybe it was nature of my cameras.
Maybe other cameras are trickier.

Thaz just carelessness andor poor planning.

Maybe you really cannot manage two cameras cuz your gear is too big. If so, theres one lens that will nail at least 75% of your pix, and the other 25% (or less) you just dont make if it means swapping lenses in risky conditions.

OTOH, if you insist that 100% of all possible pix MUST be accomplished despite risky conditions then you need two cameras. You can either suffer for your pix (carry two big cameras) or use smaller lighter gear. Its a personal choice.

My sensor cleaning kit is always in my bag. I have only had to use it once, but it was invaluable on that occasion.
