Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
This guy was the only one there who wanted his picture taken. I was disappointed because he was just laying around, but right after I took the first shot, he sat right up and looked at me. I swear, it was like he heard my shutter and decided he wanted his picture taken!

Cincinnati Zoo, last weekend:

I like it but to me it looks fake. I am not sure what makes it look that way but to me it looks like a painting or something. That doesn't have to be a bad thing though.

Am I just crazy?

I am wondering if maybe a noise reduction has reduced the detail level in parts like the tiger's coat. That would give a painting type feel to it, only mention this because I've done it myself before by accident.

Regards,
Peter Witham

It sure looks painted, no longer real, no longer like a photo.
I have found out that noise reduction works all right on noisy photos taken with the 350D, but NOT with noisy photos taken with the compact digital camera that I also have, the Powershot A95. I invariably get the "painted" look when I send those pics through NeatImage.
So that may very well have happened here, too.

I kind of thought so too. And yup, this is the work of Neat Image! I was going to put up the version without the noise filtering, but unfortunately photo bucket just isn't playing nice today. Oh well. The print actually looks pretty good, but the the walmart scan of it looks like crap anyway. I need my own film scanner.....

Ok, I'll try again.

Does that look really small? It does on my screen, but I've learned that with Photobucket, I can't always trust what I see.

i like it, i think he looks beautiful. sometimes what we want and what we capture dont match up but it can be a nice final outcome.
