Arcos de la Frontera, Spain.
Nice shot. I like, but I would crop out the top. The wires and cables. They're very dark and distracting and pull my eye up there.
I like it too, but I think I would add even a bit more contrast! Great job as always!
Cropping off the wires does give it more of a classic look but you still have the wire coming half way down on the right wall in the background. Leaving them tells a bit more of the life of the gentleman in the scene. We don't get to see much of him so need his environment to pull together his story. I like this photo - I keep looking deeper into it to find more detail of what is happening. Keep it as is, maybe play with contrast but not too much as you will end up going over-board. Like me, I babble and over analyze.
Personally I don't think the wire is a problem at all. My eye fell straight to the gentleman walking away.
That's really beautiful.
I'm jealous of all your traveling!
Yes, I always think it worth the $ to travel!
Thanks for all the comments. Here is a re-cropped, slightly sanitized version - taking into account some of your suggestions...
(Border added due to increased contrast combined with white page backdrop).
The second version is tidier, but not particularly necessary. I liked the first version, as well. Great lines and shadows in this one.
Nice to see you posting again, Tuna.
I actually like the original version better ( no crop), the second one is, as you said, sanitized, it's not as interesting IMO.
Great shot. I like to refer to the second crop as the National Geographic frame. At any rate; try opening up the fella's shirt to get some of the dreaded 18% grey out of there.
