Decided to take the RB out on a beautiful sunny day and shoot both b&w and color side-by-side.

I'll develop the b&w tonight and take the color in tomorrow to get souped locally.

For those who have never experienced the thrill of seeing your negatives for the first time as the come off the reel, it's a close race with seeing a nice, bright groundglass!

It'd like a window to another world. You're looking at something no one else in the universe can see. You are 'at one' with the subject. It is yours, and yours alone.

And with just a click, you can share it with the world.

I gotta say, there's something to be said about acute matte screens too. And the viewfinder for a Hassy H series gives that same feeling. It puts other finders to shame. But regardless, you have an excellent point. I'll miss the waist level finder of my 500C/M, but someday I'll buy an RZ to fill that void.

Just about the only keeper from the roll of b&w due to the shutter malfunctioning on the 250mm...

Those shutters can and do fail fairly often it would seem. Regular maintenance with these is important.

The Mamiya 645 is a wonderful camera and it was my first medium format gear, but I must say that I never really "got" medium format until my first TLR. That ground glass and 6x6 format...I fell in love and I fell hard :)

Great shots, Sparky!

OK, maybe one more.
