Pretty in Pink

Those are nice. I especially liked the second and third. Nest-gathering shots are always interesting too. Such unusual birds, what with those crazy bills and all..and that pink color! I wonder about the pink birds...wondering if the color is not very visible to possible predators or something...or just soooo crazy far-out that it's outside the norm of "prey-stuff"????

They're really only that pink during their mating season. Later or earlier they still have a bit of a pink tinge but are more a mottled white and pink. As to predators, not sure what the color does but Snowy White and Great Egrets stand out like sore tumbs as well. Hard to hide white unless you're on a white sand beach. or in the snow and I don't think you'll find many of these birds that far north.

ALl nice but i really like #3, it is looking at you like you're the funny looking one lol
